2008 AALAS President Chris Newcomer kicks off the 59th AALAS National Meeting with a ribbon cutting to open the Exhibit Hall.

The meeting was a success, with4,613registered attendees and more than 300 exhibitors. Special thanks to the Indianapolis Local Arrangements Committee, chaired by Janice Warrick-Polakoff (pictured at left).

The meeting offered nearly 400 sessions on a range of educational, timely topics.

Learning Resources Center
The Online Learning Committee offered a fun way to learn about the AALAS Learning Library with a scavenger hunt at the Learning Resources Center at this year’s AALAS National Meeting. We hope everyone who participated learned something new about the AALAS Learning Library while answering the 10 questions. Congratulations to our winners: Shane Borchers, Susan Grau, Kelly Goss, Barbara Campagna, Rebecca Anne Haynes, and Jami Montgomery. We appreciate the support of The McConnell Group for sponsoring the $50 Visa gift card prizes for this year’s scavenger hunt.

AALAS Foundation
The AALAS Foundation activities during the National Meeting in Indianapolis helped raise $32,300 to support educational outreach. Special thanks to Harlan for sponsoring the Foundation reception, Instech Solomon for sponsoring our auctioneer Dr. Tom Nolan (right), and to Allentown for making a contribution for each person who attended their Open House (below).
